Glassblower‘s Shop
In the 200-year-old outbuildings of the Hofgut Sternen, the glassblower, Michael Greiner-Adam, forms vases, oil-lamps and decorative glass balls from special glass tubes. The tradition of glassblowing in the Black Forest dates back to the 18th century. Over the years glassblowing has become an art and nowadays playing with colour and form is typical for the art of glassblowing, which has a long tradition in the Black Forest. As with many other trades, glassblowing has moved with the times and brings, besides such classics as vases and decorative glass balls, the modern designs of today to the fore, combined with refined and subtle colours and light-effects. All of this and an extensive selection of glass articles for everyday use, animal figures and decorative pieces are to be found in our Hofgut Sternen Glassblower’s Shop.
Goethe himself always knew how the weather would be. The hand-made barometer, which is named after him, shows the change in air pressure with the rising and falling of the water in the tube. A classic, just like the person who discovered it.
